Preview for the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere
This Group One for two-year-old colts features leading French prospects versus a strong runner trained by Ballydoyle. Unbeaten Rayif and Nighttime compete against O’Brien’s Puerto Rico for O’Brien. Graffard’s runner took the Group Three Prix Francois Boutin on his previous race, whereas Christopher Head’s charge, holding three wins from four, additionally a Group Three winner, having won a Group Three at Longchamp at this course and distance during September. The O’Brien contender proved busier compared to the others and recorded his first win only during his latest start, winning the Doncaster’s Group Two. Although an outsider for an O’Brien-trained runner , but a market leaders did not deliver, he remains a solid contender according to the bookmakers. A Bit Of Spirit (Solario Stakes winner), which took the Solario Stakes after a tight finish, also merits his place in the lineup, like the Appleby-trained Time To Turn (Appleby), a Listed winner at Royal Ascot earlier this season.

Prix Marcel Boussac Preview
Analysis of the 12.40pm Race
After a four-year run from 2018 when the Boussac winner was unable to record a subsequent win, the French top race for two-year-old fillies has regained a little strength lately featuring Blue Rose Cen (2022) and Opera Singer each securing Group One victories the following year and Zarigana, who narrowly defeated by her 100-1 stable companion a year after trading at very short odds, claimed the French 1,000 Guineas during the spring. The unbeaten Green Spirit, with a clean slate after four outings which included the D’Aumale at this track most recently, leads the local challenge in this race and also tops Timeform’s figures. But from Ballydoyle Diamond Necklace remains unbeaten – from two races – , so should offer a tough challenge. Diamond Necklace took a Listed race during Champions Weekend this autumn and a win for this offspring of the stallion St Mark’s Basilica would represent a big moment for the breed. Combined, the favourites according to odds represent around 70% of the pool, but we have a few more contenders that warrant some consideration. Ozone (unbeaten) remains with two wins, though at smaller venues, last time out securing a black-type contest on the Lyon track. Meanwhile, Karl Burke’s Aylin (May Hill winner) took a Group Two on the Doncaster course in her latest start and her stable could hardly be performing better.
