British Punter Claims £26m European Lottery Prize

Jackpot Prize Jackpot Winner

A single British ticket-holder has secured the £26 million European lottery grand prize, the National Lottery have announced.

The winning numbers drawn on the Friday draw were 06, 12, 18, 25 and 41, with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 06.

This marks the third European lottery grand prize won in the United Kingdom this year out of ten held so far.

In January, one ticket-holder secured £83 million, then came a sixty-five million pound Valentine's Day prize. The two successful players chose to remain anonymous.

However, the lucky individual of Saturday's £10.6 million UK Lotto top prize has yet to come forward.

A top consultant encouraged ticket holders to spend some time to verify their entries and online notifications.

The lucky Lotto combination for last Saturday were: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59 and the additional digit was 42.

"Our team is ready to give advice and connect with specialists who can assist victors optimize the jackpot for themselves and family and friends," the official commented.

The EuroMillions win will be verified against the lottery regulations, and when validated, the jackpot recipient will choose whether to reveal their identity.

Despite making them a multi-millionaire, Friday's prize of £26 million does not rank the player among the biggest EuroMillions jackpot winners.

A jackpot of above £183m would have been needed to earn a position in the top 10 list of jackpot prizes.

The largest win secured by a UK ticket-holder is £195 million in two years ago, based on data from the lottery.

Even though it is challenging to secure a jackpot, it is more common than one might imagine to leave it unclaimed.

An individual lost a £1m win last year after not claiming a EuroMillions win within the six-month time limit, meaning the cash was instead donated to charitable causes.

The greatest EuroMillions jackpot to go unclaimed in the United Kingdom was £63.8m in June 2012.

The EuroMillions draw is takes place every Tuesday and Friday evening across nine European countries.
